This day last year my heart broke.
One year ago today, a friendship that I thought strong enough to overcome any obstacle proved itself not so. I feel as though this deserves acknowledgement. A whole year and I still can’t sleep in the middle of my double bed. I still hope this ache I’ve grown accustomed to feeling will fade. One day.
The ferocity and unconditionalistic nature of love astounds me. It is unaffected by time, distance or experience. No amount of wishing will switch it off. You can run from it, but you can’t forget about it.
I believe in love. Not ‘love at first sight’, but a slow growth of affection for a person. A special type of emotional connection that I believe once exists, never goes away. I believe it can transform and change, but you can’t simply unlove someone. Though that would be easier.
I love him. I hate him. I miss him.
But I am so much better without him.
I am doing fine.
Emily! I did not get to see you before I left! This was unfortunate on two counts. 1. I didn't get to say goodbye and have a great weekend without me, and 2. I didn't get to see your fancy new hair. As such, I am extremely unhappy with the situation. Hopefully this message has alleviated some of the annoyance of 1.
When are you hoooome? I miss you already! Hope you’re having a lovely time with your family. I’m a big fan of the hair. Love the colour. I worry that it makes me look a little bit like a man though. What do you think…?
